It does not matter what kind of man you are. If you are a go-getter, an outdoorsman, a business man, a golfer, a physicist, or whatever there is no reason that you should have to dress ridiculously. Some men think that since they like to be outside camping and stuff that their fashion should reflect that. Sweat stained tee shirts and hiking boots should be left on the trails and that is it. It goes all ways though, business men should learn to keep the snazzy button downs limited for certain occasions. A night out at the movies does not need cuff links. There are ways to keep your look classic and also have a bit of personality that suits who you are, but it’s time to get serious about how you present yourself and dress. No matter who you are, there are rules that you need to follow.

First things first, every man should own a tailored and well fitted two-button suit. Even if you do not feel like you will ever wear it, it is better to be safe than sorry. Plus a two-button suit is timeless so you can have it forever if you take care of it and buy it in a classic fabric and color like grey. Make sure that the tailor fitting you knows the deal. A lot of men go home with a suit that is close to one size too big. The sleeve length should hit just so at the wrists.

Wearing shorts is only appropriate when swimming, exercises, or doing yard work. If you have a job indoors, even if it is the most flexible dress code in the world, shorts are never an option. The look is unprofessional and says “I don’t care how I look.” That can give off a bad impression. So, unless you are a lifeguard, keep the shorts out of the work wear.

You need to own an all-occasions belt and tie. A classic black leather belt can be paired with anything from denim to suits. Get high quality leather, and you will have a belt that you love to wear for many years to come. Same thing goes for a tie. Look for a classic black tie. If you are edgy, add in some edge with a thinner tie that gives a youthful appearance to an outfit.
